Twitter/X access problem | Elon Musk: Cyber attack was carried out from IPs originating from Ukraine

Elon Musk, the owner of social media platform X, explained that the access problem on the platform was caused by a “cyber attack originating from Ukraine”. “We get attacked every day, but this was from too many sources,” Musk said.

Social media platform X, owned by US billionaire businessman Elon Musk, experienced a prolonged access problem, with members unable to post for hours.

According to Downdetector.com, which tracks when social media platforms are offline, the first outage on the X platform occurred around 06:30 am New York local time.

According to the tracking site, after the problem was fixed for a while, problems with access to the platform increased around 09:40 and around 40,000 users reported that their X accounts were not working.

It was determined that the outage was mostly experienced in densely populated cities such as New York and Boston on the east coast of the US and Los Angeles on the west coast.

Elon Musk, the owner of X, said that the problem experienced in X since the morning hours was caused by a “cyber attack”.

Giving an interview to Fox Business Network, he stated that they were not completely sure what the attack was, “But a massive cyber attack was organized with IP addresses originating from Ukraine to crash the X system.”

At the moments when the attack began, Musk said, “We are attacked every day, but this was done from too many sources. Either a large, coordinated group or a country was involved.”

Musk stated that there are currently no access problems on the platform.
